Adem\u00e1s del merecumb\u00e9 cre\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 10 ritmos bailables de los cuales trascendieron en menor grado: el chiquich\u00e1 (Camino culebrero, Al mar, etc.); el bambugay, mezcla de bambuco y gaita del cual hizo un solo n\u00famero con ese mismo titulo; Mecemece (El mecenlece, El vaiv\u00e9n, Linda Noche); el tuki tuki (El tuki tuki candeloso, Alegr\u00edas del Carnaval). Hizo tambi\u00e9n otros ritmos de menor importancia denominadas Caminaito y Ritmo Pa. Compuso en todas las modalidades, desde boleros hasta pasillo, pasando por valses y torbellinos y cre\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n una buena cantidad de porros tan famosos como: El brazalete (La butifarra de Pacho), El collar rosado, Marquitos Vanegas, Mario Jimeno y Barranquilla.<\/p>\n<p>Falleci\u00f3 el 21 de julio de 1988 en Barranquilla, ciudad donde hab\u00eda transcurrido gran parte de su carrera art\u00edstica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1968: Mar\u00eda Luisa Calle, ciclista colombiana.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fallecimientos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>1226: San Francisco de As\u00eds, religioso italiano.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Francisco Assisi; As\u00eds, actual Italia, 1182-id., 1226) Fundador de la orden franciscana. Hijo de un rico mercader llamado Pietro di Bernardone, Francisco de As\u00eds era un joven mundano de cierto renombre en su ciudad.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco de As\u00eds predic\u00f3 la pobreza como un valor y propuso un modo de vida sencillo basado en los ideales de los Evangelios. El papa Inocencio III aprob\u00f3 su modelo de vida religiosa, le concedi\u00f3 permiso para predicar y lo orden\u00f3 di\u00e1cono. Con el tiempo, el n\u00famero de sus adeptos fue aumentando y Francisco comenz\u00f3 a formar una orden religiosa, la de los franciscanos. Adem\u00e1s, con la colaboraci\u00f3n de santa Clara, fund\u00f3 la rama femenina de su orden, que recibi\u00f3 el nombre de clarisas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1867: Elias Howe, inventor estadounidense (n. 1819).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Elias Howe (Spencer, Massachusetts, 9 de julio de 1819 &#8211; 3 de octubre de 1867), fue un inventor americano, pionero en la creaci\u00f3n de la m\u00e1quina de coser, aunque no fuese su inventor (fue Walter Hunt).<\/p>\n<p>En septiembre de 1846 se le concedi\u00f3 la primera patente de una m\u00e1quina de coser. La patente fue denunciada ante los tribunales en la d\u00e9cada de 1850, debido a que el invento pertenec\u00eda a Walter Hunt que lo hab\u00eda inventado anteriormente sin haberla patentado. Lo que realmente Howe hizo fue perfeccionar y remodelar la m\u00e1quina de coser.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Celebraciones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Am\u00e9rica Latina:<\/p>\n<p>D\u00eda Latinoamericano de la Odontolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Santoral cat\u00f3lico<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>San Remigio\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Obispo\u00a0\u00a0 A\u00f1o 530<\/p>\n<p>San Remigio fue el gran ap\u00f3stol de los franceses. Se hizo c\u00e9lebre por su sabidur\u00eda, su admirable santidad y sus muchos milagros.
